This has happened to me twice sofar.  I'll login and it will tell me that my API keys are no longer valid.  The solution both times was the first Delete the key, then re-add it.  And no, I haven't been changing my API keys.

Yea, API servers are returning Authentication Error on perfectly good keys.  I'm looking into it but tbh there isn't much I can do...  it's annoying me as much as you.

SURPRISE!!!

We had a patch, and the API doesnt work... its not like that hasnt happened on every other patch  Roll Eyes

Not sure why this patch affected the API. From the brief notes I saw, it was performance related.

Squizz, may be worth putting an "API is down" option in your top secret admin panel that assumes all API's are valid and doesn't check them for updates.

When the API is back, flick the switch and we are back to API verified.

Well, authentication error typically means the user has reset their Limited API, and therefore it would be no good in the future regardless.

When someone's API becomes invalid, whether because they changed it or they've unsubbed or whatever reasons, the EveChatter code will wipe the key from the database.  It's invalid, and therefore no need to keep it around.  I think I'll disable this part for now, but the damage is already done.

Well I just revamped the verification section of the code.  It should now take roughly 36 hours for an API to be officially declared invalid.

This has implications both good and bad, but I feel that the overall benefit is worthwhile.

These are the kinds of things I have to deal with!  API will return empty XML results during a round of validation, and then the next round everything will be great...
